At the moment she is still at the yard and hard work is being done to get her in top condition, but from April the Tukker will be sailing between the Netherlands, United Kingdom, France and Portugal to ship cargo in the most responsible way. And she also takes a limited number of passengers!
There are few obligations on board, but if you want you can participate in the watches as a trainee and help sailing the cargo to its destination under the supervision of the permanent crew. This also means that the permanent crew will teach you the basics of seamanship and you will disembark with many experiences richer. Don't feel like helping? No problem, you are a guest so do what you feel like.
The Tukker is equipped with an auxiliary engine, but this is only used to sail in and out of the harbor, after which it sails on wind power. We dare to say that this is currently the most sustainable mode of transport.
The Tukker's voyages are generously scheduled for this: When you come on board, the cargo is first stored in the hold, when everything is stowed sea-tight, the ship sets sail. With favorable winds we will quickly reach the final destination, if the wind is against it will take a little longer. On arrival, cargo has to be disembarked again. Do you feel like rolling up your sleeves? Please! Many hands make light work. This way, in addition to a beautiful journey, you also make the world a little better.

The Tukker is a 40 meters long ketch and has a draft of 2.5 meters. She takes up to 70 tons of cargo on her travels. Passengers sleep on board the ship for the entire journey. Everyone who sails is assigned a berth. During the trip, everyone is well looked after, freshly cooked meals are served three times a day.
This is not a luxury cruise and there are no golden water taps on board. Don't expect cocktails, snacks and deck chairs, but pure experiences, sincere conversations, hearty meals, an abundance of fresh air and a solid bed with a good mattress.
